Raza Development Fund (CDFI)

David G. Clower is the Chief Investment Officer of Raza Development Fund (RDF), a Phoenix-based CDFI with a mission to invest capital and create financial solutions to increase opportunities for Latino and poor families across the country.  He joined RDF as its Chief Credit Officer in 2010 with over 20 years of commercial and investment banking experience across commercial real estate, venture-debt, private equity, alternative and socially responsible, impact investment platforms.  He is responsible for executing business strategies and managing the growth of assets under management and has overseen the organization and growth of the firm’s specialty finance businesses while establishing new investment platforms focused on the US/Mexico Border and Pacific Northwest Regions.  Mr. Clower is also the Founder and Managing Member of Desert Cove Ventures, a closely-held, impact investment fund and ESG/SRI advisor based in Scottsdale.

Mr. Clower serves as Vice Chairman of the National Trust Community Investment Corporation’s Board of Directors; Chairman of its Audit, Risk, & Finance Committee; and as a Member of its Executive and Investment Committees.  He also serves as a Member of the Phoenix Conservatory of Music’s Board of Directors and, as Treasurer, he chairs its Finance Committee.  He is a former Executive Committee Member of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition’s Board of Directors, the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Community Advisory Board, and the Association of Latino Professionals for America – Phoenix Chapter Corporate Advisory Board.

He is a multi-national with dual citizenship in the United States and México.  He studied Applied Economics at the University of San Francisco; Commercial Real Estate Finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Strategic Business Leadership at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Clower is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Candidate.
